About Chris Degenaars

Chris Degenaars is 21 years old and currently based in McKinney, Texas, with a passion for helping brands create unique experiences. Currently, Chris is the Director of Operations & Strategy for Long Drive Agency and serves on the Board of Directors for the American Advertising Federation of Dallas.

Chris found his passion for marketing at 16 years old when he joined an event promotion company in Dallas, Texas, City Light Events.

In his junior year of high school, Chris joined DECA and took the first step to follow his dream of being in the advertising industry. Chris continued to compete in bike races around the nation, as well as running track and cross country for Plano West Senior High School.

Chris went on to receive multiple scholarship offers to compete at the collegiate level for both cycling and cross country before committing to Belmont-Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina and becoming the first athlete to join the schools new collegiate cycling team. Chris eventually decided to de-commit from the school and stayed in Plano, Texas, to take online classes while working full-time at Cadence Cyclery, a local bike shop in McKinney.

Chris became the marketing manager for Cadence Cyclery and Giant Lakeside within a few months and led a wide range of projects as part of the larger objective to help the shop make a full digital transformation.

In the fall of 2016, Chris was offered a part-time internship with Long Drive Agency, a full-service marketing agency in McKinney, Texas that creates unique experiences and custom lead generation programs for companies in the golf industry. In January 2017 Chris was offered a full-time position with Long Drive Agency and has been with the company since.

Chris works with LDA clients to create and implement a variety of digital and traditional marketing strategies, as well as internal agency strategies and day-to-day operations. Chris also handles support for the agencies 200+ clients across the United States, while managing innovation and implementation for Digital Range, the cloud-based dashboard LDA has developed for their clients.

Chris also co-founded Wattage Coffee Company in McKinney, Texas and consults with PhoneLynk, a mobile phone number app for businesses, on design and marketing efforts.

From building one-page websites to detailed UI/UX designs, from social media campaigns to paid media strategies, Chris is passionate about solving problems and creating experiences to help his clients.
